PowderKlda Brehmcyer Is High School’s Valedictorian While Robert LathamIs Salutatorinn.CALIFORNIA, Mo., April 3.—Elda Brehmcyer is the valedictorian and Robert Latham, the milu-tatrtfian n/ this year’s graduatingclass of the local hirrh school, according to an announcement made \\ cduesday by John O. Henderson, superintendent. There are fifty-1nine members of this year’s class.It is customary in this school toannounce the honojs in the schoo'at the end of the third term in or-tlrr that the pupils may have ample time to prepare the valedictory and salutatory. To l»e eligible to the highest honors in this school the pupil must have done ail of his work here. This rule prevails because the standard of work varies in different schools, and the ability of the pupils and their faithfulness should be measured by a common standard. The j valedictorian must have made the highest scholastic average for thelour years, and the salutatorian must have the second highest grades for the entire four years. Physical education and deportmentj grades are not included because they do not count toward graduation.
