SHAFTER—Dr. Grant W. Jen sen, principal of Shafter High School, who will leave at the end of the year to assume the duties of principal at the new South High School in Bakersfield, was honored at a banquet given by the Shafter High faculty club in Bakersfield recently. Dr. Jensen was presented with a piece of luggage by the faculty members. A resume of Jensen's five years as principal at Shafter was given by the teachers who were faculty club presidents during the pe riod. Recalling incidents from their terms of office were Dick Heber, now teaching at North High, and present Shafter High School instructors Jim Wilson, Burley Dooley, Hal Williams and Gaye Pare. Outgoing faculty club officers installed the recently-elected of ficers. Charles Tyner gave way to Harlan Hill as secretary; Jim Wilson turned over his post as treasurer to Don Murfin, vice president David Marsh ushered in his successor, Kenneth Fahs bender, and president Gaye Pare turned the gavel over to David Marsh. Kenneth Fahsbender also intro duced the two new members of the club’s professional relations committee: Tom Pettus and Dennis Foreman. Foreman will succeed Fahsbender as chairman of the committee. Pare awarded certificates of service to teachers and school workers who are leaving. Re ceiving certificates were Dr. Jensen, Evelyn Micheletti, Mar lene Hoffman, Mrs. Ethel Teves, Charles Tyner, Shirley Moore and Mrs. Adrienne Dooley.
