TASTE OF EBONE. It will be a family affair at the first annual Queen City’s Taste of Ebone at Pratt Park on Garfield place. HOMEBUYERS SEMINAR Communities United For Action and Provident Bank are holding summer classes for all future homebuyers. BENEFIT GOLF TOURNA MENT Greater Cincinnati Golfers Inc. and the Black American Law Stu dents Association presents the First Annual Scholarship Golf Tourna ment to benefit the Ira Krauss Fund for Black American Law Students on August 17 at the Avon Fields Golf Course, 4081 Reading Road, with a tee time of 9:30 a.m. The event will feature a four person, best ball scramble for trophies, prizes and gifts, and a special hole-in-one com petition for a car donated by Yates/Wyler Dodge. KINGS ISLAND FUN-RAISER The Cincinnati African-American Firefighters Association needs your help sponsoring scholarships, men toring programs and other com munity services. ALTERNATIVE ADMISSION TESTS Tests for admission to Walnut Hills and the Special College Preparatory Program (SCPP), offered in some district junior high/middle schools of the Cincinnati Public School district are given by appoint ment only. Pupils living in the Cincinnati Public School district who was not tested during the spring schedule and wishes to be tested, will be charged $50 to cover additional administrative costs in volved TAE KWON DO CLASSES The YWCA, 898 Walnut Street, downtown, will begin offering Tae Kwon Do classes. Tae Kwon Do can change your life, give you confidence and develop your mind and spirit. It is an excellent additional to any exer cise program. The classes will be of fered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. A special introductory price of $10 for five classes will be offered. The instructor is Bob Markus, a 3rd degree black bell. AUBURN TEEN PARENT PROGRAM The Coalition of Neighborhoods is pleased to announce the opening of the Mt. Auburn Teen Parent Pro gram. The program, a spin off of the Evanston Teen Parent Program, is designed to meet the needs of preg nant and parenting teens in Mt. Auburn, Corryville and Over-the- Rhine. This free service is available to teen parents and their parents. The group meets every Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Community Center. The Army Institute of Beech Acres offers a support group for step families. Participants can learn how to handle common situations and how to deal with stress. The six week groups are led by professional facilitators. The program fee is $45 (adjustable) for the first family mem ber and $10 for each additional family member. Advance registration is necessary. MOTHERS WITHOUT CUS TODY The Armg Institute of Beech Acres offers a support group for mothers without custody of their children. This six-week group is led by profes sionals of the Aring Institute and provides support and information on non-traditional parenting to par ticipants. The Arthritis Self-Help Course is designed to help you manage your arthritis. Learn how to design an ex ercise program, manage pain, cope with problems, work with your doc tor, use your joints wisely, cope with depression, evaluate non-traditional treatments and much more.
