EDWARDSVILLE, ~ Organiza tion of a fire protection district for the unincorporated Meadow brook area east of Alton is sought in a petition filed here in County Court. The proposed district, to be known as the “Meadowbrook Fire Protection District,’ embraces a 2-square-mile area in Ft. Russell township located east and south east of Bethalto along both sides of Rt. 140. Date for a public hearing on the petition, which contains 60 signa tures, is to be set by County Judge Michael Kinney. The petition re quests the court to set boundaries of the proposed district and order a referendum election in the ter ritory. As set out in the petition, the district would include all of sec tions 3, 4, 5, 89, 10, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21 and 22 in Ft. Russell town ship.
