W. McKane, director or the Tuber-culosis Department or the Sate Bosrtib who is assisted by his daughter, Mug. Elsie McKane. The exhibit consists or charts illustrating many or the causes, ami errects of the dreaded disease, and also many of the means or prevention. Pictures or the poorly ventilated, dilapidated homee-of many of the tuberculosis victims are shown, as are also the well ventilated waif lighted homes, which are one of the chiefmeans of prevention. The care necessary ror the tuberculosis victim is demonstrated and many charts and placards announce the necessity or carefulness on tto*L part of the victim that he may not intact-others.Dr. McKane preaches that tubercmosur is curable, that it is not hereditary aa* that it is contagious and those who* attend his lectures will gain a lot or useful knowledge that will enable them to fortify themselves against this terrible plague «n«L which is most important of all, will tear* them how to prevent their children from becoming tuberculosis victims.Each visitor at the Fall Festival strovkt visit the exhibit and carry home with ttmm the message Dr McKane imparts.The Child’s Welfare Department, under the supervision of Miss Johnson, a trained nurse from the State Board of Health, l » most attractive place and a place wtmev mothers of small children win nnr? rr^t. and comfort for themselves and their tie ones while attending the Fall FestivaL.Tlie department is located in the basement at the county library and is ritted vpr with beds, swings, chairs and everything-' for the comfort or the babies.
