Taylor Cabin Slide Topic At DRT MeetThe Hilue Rose Harris Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas met Thursday night, September 22, in the home of Mrs. Marguerite Fitzpatrick at Columbus, Mrs, Bernice Clayton was co-hostess.Mrs. James R. Yoder of Weimar presented a program on the Kesiah Crier Taylor family in Texas in the 1830s. She showed slides of the early Texas cabin, both interior and exterior views. It is believed to have been built and given to her son George Morgan Taylor in the lBSOs.The cabin is situated on the St. John road West Navidad River, on Mr. and Mrs. !. E. Clark's Bermuda Valley Farm. It is being preserved by the Clarks’ daughter, Candace, who used . the preservation project in a course while she attended the University of Texas, Austin, Member and guests from Schulenburg, Weimar and Columbus were present.The hostesses served strawberries and whipped cream on angel f^od cake with coffee.
