Students sent home for dressCHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Two boys were sent home from Chichester High School this week for wearing •‘loud” plaid slacks which the principal said attracted too much attention.Kenneth Carroll, 16, of Lower Chichester, and Robert Trice, 20, of Ogden said they were, given one hour to go home and change their clothes, TOey went to Kenneth’s home but didn’t change and didn’t return to classes.The school is about 10 miles south of Philadelphia.“There are a lot of plaids thatare beautiful,” said 'Principal Howard Plummer, “but these (Carroll’s) slacks are a little loud.”Carroll was wearing cuffless brown slacks, that have a bright criss-cross pattern. Twice before, when he wore them, he was sent home,Trice, wearing black and white plaid slacks, said he, too, had been sent home on two previous occasions, most recently last Thursday when he wore brown slacks, a wide belt, and n turtle-nock jersey.Carroll had said earlier, “I will fight tills all thlt;* way. I paid good money for these slacks.”His mother, however, said she wanted to study the school’s dress and grooming code.Plummer declined to say what further action he might take, if the boys stick to their slacks.
