The bill was referred to [the finance committee and ordered printed:A BILLAuthorizing the secretary of war to donate two condemned cannon to the town of Seymour, Connecticut.Be it enacted by the senate and house of representatives of the United States of America in congress assembled, that the secretary of war be, and is hereby, authorized, in his discretion, to donate to the town of Seymour, Connecticut, two condemned bronze or brass cannon or field pieces, with carriages and a suitable outfit of cannon balls, the same to be subject at all times to the order of the secretary of war: Provided, That no expanse s'hall he incurred by the United States in connection therewith.
