AMERICAN FLACj S Pres nted Last Niglit to the|(Annan Turnverein. 1ti)rI*)Last night at Turner Hall alarge number of people were gathered to witness the presentation of an American flag to the MobileTurnverein Association by the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the association.The ceremonies were begun by the singing ol the song “I Greet You, My Glorious Land, Columbia, With Heart and Hand.” Theflag was then presented by MissMarie Konstanzer, who made apretty and appropriate speech in delivering it into the hands of tlie Turnverein. Mr. E. A. Brunnier, president of the Turnverein, accepted ii oa behalf of the association. The male quartette sang ‘‘SieSeben Iloch, ” after which the ‘‘.Star Spangled Banner.” translated into German, was sung for tliu first lime in Mobile.Refreshments were served 1o the assemblage, and dancing was participated in.The committee from the Ladies’ Auxiliary who ha 1 charge of the presentation were Misses MarieKonstanzer. Gussie Zicrnan, Lizzie Mueckel, Rosie Hecht, Alesdames Kate Konstanzer, Charles Zundel and II. Frei. The flag is of silk,with go d fringe and tassels, andsurmounted by a gilded eagle. Itbears the inscription on whitelibbon, “Presented by the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Mobile Turn verein, September 25, 18U9. ”
