Twelve members and one guest, Mrs. Kendall. were present. Mrs. Kendall offered the opening prnyor. after which a business session was held A penny supper was planned for '■ October 8. Mrs. Mo rath, gave the ' closing prayer. The division will entertain the general society in two weeks at Uhe home of Mrs. I*. O. Gibson. Four special guests also were present, Mrs. Rosa Green, Mrs. Louise Rhody, Mrs. Lulu Abbott and Mrs. Kendra Griffith. Contest prir.es were awarded to Mrs. Green. Mrs. Rebecca Shan man, Mrs. Ada Bur Ran and Mrs. Della Francisco and a birthday gift waa, presented to Mrs. Gertrude Hope. The hostess was assisted in serving refreshments by Mrs. Lenorh. Griffith. Nutt, 811 South Main street, Thursday afternoon. Mrs. D. H. Thompson opened the meeting with the Scripture^ lesson and the Lord’s Prayer was repeated. One hundred dollars w^s voted on the building fund, a good sum of money was turned in and plans were made to ratse~-the three hundred dollars remaining on the building fund pledge. Mrs. Rollins offered the closing prayer. During ■ the social hour light refreshments “were served by the hosteiss.* * *A kid party” was enjoyed by thirty members ol the Phi Beta Psi sorority Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Walter McFat-rldge, 621 West Foster street, for which the assisting hostesses were Mrs. Franklin Baker, Mrs. Ha i'd 1 cl Aikman, Miss Ina Abney and Miss Valeria Lawson. School-day games in keeping with the occasion provided the diversions.
