John A. ThompsonJohn Alben “AT Thompson, 76, of113 Parkway St., Beckley, died 2:55 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21,1994 in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.Born Aug. 29,1918, at Beaver, he was the son of the late Henry D. and Grace Henderson Thompson.Mr. Thompson was a graduate of Shady Spring High School and the Coyne Electrical School. He retired from Appalachian Power Company with 33 years of service and was a member of All Soul’s Episcopal Church, where he was a vestrymember and former senior wardenof the church.He was a member of the BeckleyMasonic Lodge No. 95 AF and AM,member of the Beckley Chapter No. 38, Mt. Hope Commandry No. 32 and the Beni Kedem Shrine Temple in Charleston.Mr. Thompson was a volunteer at the Raleigh County Public Library and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathan H. and Ned D. Thompson.Survivors include his wife, AnnaK. Burk Thompson; a sister, Jo Ann Hammond of Beckley, and two brothers, Kermit L. Thompson of Nitro and Ritchie R. Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas.Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at All Soul’s Episcopal Church, 4-H Lake Road, Daniels with Rev. J.H. Scheff officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B, Beckley.Friends may call 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Calfee Funeral Home.Donations of sympathy may be made to the All Soul’s EpiscopalChurch, P.O.
