VHGENT NBED OF POLICE MATRONThe necessity for appointing a police woman, or matron, who would he in all respects a member of the police force, and under the control of the Chief, was the keynote of a meeting held last Saturday by the Local Council of Women at the V. M. 0 A. Mrs. Donald McEwen, who presided, said that the civic conscience of women had been aroused, and that the matter of a police woman touched the women of Brandon very strongly. Indiscreet women and girls j were taken up bv a policeman, and ! in some cases might be searched, and | this seemed rather an outrage.Women serving sentences had no money and left the jail penniless.
