}I rnOKNT NBED OF POLICE MA-I TRONThe necessity for appointing a police woman, or matron, who would he in all respects a member of the police force, and under the control of the Chief, was the keynote of a meeting held last Saturday by the Local Council of Women at the V. M. C A, Mrs. Donald McEwen, who presided, said that the civic conscience of women had been aroused, and that the matter of a police woman touched the women of Brandon very strongly. Indiscreet women and girls t were taken up bv a policeman, and in some cases might be searched, and this seemed rather an outrage.Women serving sentences had no money and left the jail penniless. It
