Mr. Gardner says that there was a splendid exhibit of corn and pumpkins.; The fair was held in West Lawrence near where the stone Con-gregational ehurch used to stai d,t.hat building being used for the Artexhibit .1 .' # .The features of the fair were theraces: Charlotte Eldridge wc n thesaddle eydnt from Mrs. Sam Walker, jgfce was making a rgreat ridel when her saddle came off, but she pjuckily hopped on! bareback ami won the prise: a twenty-dollar saddle given by J: G. Saiqjs, who kept the first harness shoo ever run in Lawrence.
