•—Keokuk Hate City: The congregation of the IMlgrlm Rest Colored Baptist church were entertained last evening by Miss Grace Allen, superintendent of the colored industrial school at Burlington. She lectured in the interest of this institute. Mrs. Allen lectured on what the negro youth of the northwest can accomplish by an industrial education and the lecture was very much enjoyed by the congregation. This school is planned along the same lines as Booker T. Washington’s institute in Tuskogee and has thirty-nine enrollment at the present time. It has been endorsed by many prominent men, both colored and white, in Davenport. Clinton, Burlington and Keokuk and much interest is being taken in the work of Mrs. Allen.
