The Nickelodoon Next Week.The Nickelodeon is rapidly approaching completion, and will be ready for the opening Oct. 1. The new museum will possess, it is promised, an imposing front and remarkably attractive interior. One of the notab e features will be a new sign, 50 feet long and 19 feet high in its widest part, consisting of no less than 150 separate pieces. The central figure will be a portrait of the proprietor, Colonel William Austin. An arch of five-cent nieces, backed up by aburst of golden spearheads, will span the top of the sign. Flanking the centrepiece will be two monster nickel pieces, each seven felt; t in diameter, surrounded by a framework of trembling silver disks, highly polisned and kept in motion bv electric power. All the figuring and lettering will be in relief, highly polished and brilliantly colored. The museum is alj ready for the reception of the furnishings. There is to lie an exterior and an interior lobby, both finished in white and gold and heavy fractio work. The same style prevails in the foyer and auditorium of the lower floor and the curio hall upstairs. The ceilings will be elaborately finished. There will be nearly 1000 square feet of cathedral glass used in the finishing of the great gothic windows, and altogether the Nickelodeon may be expected to present a dazzling appearance.
