Guest speaker at the banquet was Paul (Dizzy) Trout, former Detroit Tiger pitcher.4PonyDinnerThe newly installed officers of the Thornton American Legion post 1070 are, from left, William King, adjutant; Charles Brooks, commander; John English, junior vice commander; Rudy Hall, senior vice commander, and Clarence Peters, sergeant-at-arms. The post installation was held recently in a joint ceremony with the auxiliary.By PATRICIA NASON877-6425Trophies were presented to the Pony league players for placing second this season in the South Suburban Teeners league. Receiving trophies were Bruce Griggs, Tony Pratcher, John Wiersma, Mike Duning, Tommy Senesac, Gerald Mar-cyk, Tom Barratt, Donald Griffin, Gregg Stangarone, John j Stoval, John Gross, Jerome Pi-lachowski.Also. Leigh Anderson, Bob Burgwald, Arnie Erickson, David Vauncry, Jim Griffin, Ken Griffin, Teddy Fenstermacher and Mark Wojiechowski.Manager of the Thornton Pony league is John Marcyk. Also assisting the team were Dan Griggs, coach, Gene Stangarone, assistant, and John Marcyk, umpire.Officers of the South Suburban Teeners league are John Marcyk, president; Robert Barratt, secretary, and Roy Hudson, treasurer. The Teeners league is looking for new teams for next year. Interested persons may contact Marcyk at 877-9381. The Pony league includes boys 13 years of age through 15.tember 23, at the Parkside school at 7:30 p.m. All parents are invited to attend.
