CROWN POINTPhone Grown Point 55t~W PERSONAL AND SOCIALbriefdatebakeThe first social meeting of this fall of the Tri Kappa sorority of Crown Point was held Tuesday evening at the Crown Point Country club, Mrs. Janet Rohr bach and Mrs. Lorraine Carrol were esses for the meeting. After business which included the set for the chapter’s annual and rummage sale, Oct, 15, at the Carrol garage, social hours of contract games were enjoyed. Mrs Everett McMschael, chairman of the fall committee is in charge of the bake and rummage sale with an assisting committee. Results of ihe games were awards receivedby Mrs. Ellen Searnonson, Mrs. Le-ota Held, Mrs. Mabel Grey and Miss Sally Fisher. Miss EvelynHauser, a new member of the localhigh school faculty, was a guest of the sorority, she a member of the Tri Kappa at her home in BieknelJ, Ind., also Mrs. J, C. Darnell of Ft. Wayne, who is in Crown Point visiting this week. The next meeting will be a business one in the library recreation rooms.Manv local folks accepted the in-nd bridge for the past summer months. Guest day was enjoyed with the usual day’s activities on Tuesday. Sixty ladies including members and guests enjoyed the 1 o'clock luncheon with social hours in the afternoon of bridge, andpinochle. Due to unfavorable weather in the morning, golf gameswere abandoned but at the closerof the luncheon Mrs. W. R Dennison was presented a golf championship trophy from the club for the past summer games. In contract* prizes were given to Mias Janet Holley. Mrs. Vernon Parry, and Mrs. Arthur Claussen. Mrs. Harry Claussen received auction prise and Mrs. William Let* and Mrs. John Berleen pinochle awards.Miss Leona Neilsen was taken from the Chicago Memorial hospital on Wednesday evening to the homo of her friend. Mrs. John Carl in Chicago where she will remain until Saturday, when her parents will, go to bring her to their home on Ridge street.
