CONTRACTFOR WORKOF IMPROVING ST. JOHNS CHURCH HAS BEEN LETBesides Frescoing and Oil Paintings, Edifice Will be Wired and New v High Altar Erected.deol-nsitero-The contract for frescoing St. John’s Catholic church was let Sunday to Mr. Bettinger, of Cleveland. This work will be the finest of its kind in Northwestern Ohio. Mr. Hettinger has frescoed many churches in Cleveland and elsewhere and his ability is known by Rev Father Gloden who recommended him. The work is to begin by October 1st.The twelve oil pictures will be painted by a former professor in art at the Munich university, Austria. All the pictures will be painted in this city 011 subjects given by Father Gloden. They will not be copies of any otheFpaintings, but all will be original. While the church is torn up and the scaffolding is in position, the edifice will be complely wired for electricity and some elegant electrical effects will be installed.The Cri tian Mothers Society will also put in a new high altar. This society which now has upwards of 5900 in thetreasury, will increase that amount onw ■■October 18th and 19th by giving cue oftheir famous suppers. This money willbe used in erecting the altar.
