It l» tho first league Institute ever hold In the district. and Prof. I*. M. Stevenson has secured quite a number of distinguished delegates and visitors. Ten leagues are represented and about forty delegates are attending, besides visitors. These conventions are proving quite a stimulus to church activity In this section.Several county candidates axe still keeping the political question alive. Two representatives, two commissioners und the boat committeemen are to he elected. Three candidate for the legislature have announced. W. C. Thomas. L-ewla Schuesler and Colonel Thigpen.Schools have opened with a full attendance, The academy over which Prof. A. W. Holstlne Is principal has the fullest opening and the largest boarding list In its history.
