The threshers had been there doling the day and a small.bile of old woodwas left smouldering a considerableways from the barn where the engine Stood, and upon going out to the barnthe next morning Mr. Severance foundthat tho fire had crept to within a. few Coot of his ijiarn and then had tied oil. If It had not. been a calm night without any wind Mr. Severance says he no doubt would have been completely burned out, and he considers himselfvery lucky under the circumstanced.
