This office enjoyed a call this morning from C. B. Archer, who makes Atlantic his permanent address. He stops with his broth er-ip-law, Steve Nichols. Mr. Archer recently completed an engagement with the Charles Manville company in Kansas and Missouri. They had a tent show out for the summer season and did well. Charlie Manville will be remembered as the Atlantic boy who formerly lived out on East Fourth street. 1-Ie started up a company in connection with a young man named McCarthy, a brother of Francis J. McCarthy, who has also had some theatrical experience and is now playing in Milwaukee. Manville is now quite successful and has been coining money this summer. Mr. Archer last appeared here with “The Man on the Box” company. He had intended to sign up this season with Trousdale for the “Mary Jane's l/c,” cotnpany which appeared here last week.
