LICE ARREST 2 US TTRocco Navigato, Saloon Man, and Charles Ziedenhagen, Beer Agent, Accused,HUNTFORWOMEN DANCERSLieut, Mooney, Alleged Guest of Honor, Gives Shippy the Names of Many Present,After an Investigation by the Kensington police and men sent out by Chief Shippy, Rocco Navigato, a Kensington saloonkeeper, and Charles Ziedenhagen, Chicago agent for a brewing company, were arrested last night charged with promoting the alleged Indecent exhibition Wednesday night in a hall above Navigato’s saloon, which was announced as in honor of Lieutenant Mooney of the Kensington police. They refused to talk and were soon afterward released on bonds of $500 each, signed by Andrew Caridinl, 2414 Kensington avenue.The entertainment, according to reports, was arranged by Ziedenhagen, and the proceeds were to be used i*n buying Mooney a diamond studded star. More than 250 persons are said to have witnessed the performance. It Is charged that liquor was sold in the hall and saloon long after the time allowed by lawr. Charges that Lieutenant Mooney was himself present at the entertainment for a time were denied by that official, but Chief Shippy Is still conducting his investigation to learn more of the affair.Mooney Sends Names of Guests.Chief Shippy yesterday ordered Lieutenant Mooney to forward to his office a list of names of policec^fcn and citizens who had attended tne entertainment. The lieutenant last night sent a list of many names by special messenger to the chief among them being those of five policemen who were in plain clothes and off duty at the time. The men were Policeman Mc-Graw, Gallagher, George, Ennis and Tuck, all of the Kensington station.Chief Shippy said last night that if Navigato is found guilty he will ask the Muyor to revoke his license.According to the police, search is now being made for the “Merry Widow Klddo” and “Hazel,” who are accused of entertaining the crowd with- dances, risque stories and a disrobing act.Chief Shippy learned from Lieutenant Mooney last night that the entertainment was given by the Twentieth Century Club. This organization is headed by the beer agent and the saloonkeeper. They expected to clear more than $1,000 with which to purchase the diamond star the invesi-gators learned.A feature of the affair developed during the investigation when it w’as learned that since Lieutenant Mooney took command of the station and until two months ago he had caused the arrest of Ziedenhagen several times, and the resulting prosecutions on various charges ended In tines amounting to about $200.
