J., Sept. 10.™ Fifteen beauties remained today of 'it competitors for the 1926 title of '’Miss America” and these faced reduction to five in the afternoon and to the winner tonight. The winnermust have brains as well as beauty, the judges have decided.There were three favorites this morning:, the winners in an evening • gown contest last night. Miss Tulsa,1 Oklahoma, (Norma Smallwood) took first place: Miss Greater New York| (Ruth K, Paterson) secondhand MissWashington (Marjorie Joesting)rirt3i1third.They were given cups by Miss America of 1925 (Fay Lanphier) and broadwaik gossip promptly dis-rite, Miss Denver, to hail them as chief contenders lor the title. Miss Tulsa wore a Delft blue gown of velvet, and the other two white satin trimmed with rhinestones.The other twelve who were fn the race today were the Misse$ Bridgeport, Yonkers, New Ark, Qrange, N.
