Brooksburg Sun: A short time ago we published a clipping from an exchange stating that a gentleman in Shelby county, who was born in Jefferson county, Ind., was the oldest native-born Hoosier living. That was a mistake. Mr. John F. Cotton living near Moore* field. Switzerland, county, is now 84 years old, and was born on the banks of the creek about two miles back of Yevay, in 1S03. His father found a hollow syc-amore tree into which he moved with his small family and lived until he built a house close by. “Uncle Johnny” used to enjoy the sports sports of children with juvenile Indians, who were his playmates for years He says they could beat him shooting with the bow and arrow, but he could beat them wrestling. He is now a hale, hearty man, and no doubt he is the oldest native-born Hoo-sier living. We saw him paying attention to ladies at the Moorefield celebra* tion a few dayB ago.
