Everything passed off without a hitch, and there was nothing to a hich exception could be taken, unless it w ere the names, in which some of the Winnipeg sports tried to work the races. They were defeated, however, iu tneirown game, and left the city sorrier, but wiser men. The ueuther was all that could possibly be expected, Betting waa lively, and there was general enthusiasm.The First Day a large contingent from Winnipeg was present, having arrived by special train during the morning, to back their favorites to their last cent.The Judges were, Judge Walker, and Mr. J. D. McGlegor, of Brandon, ami Mr. J. B. Wright, ol Winnipeg, whose decisions gave the utmost aatislaction. 'ihe *2.40 trot for a purse of (200, was first on the list. It was keenly contested.
