Accompanied by her Aunt Adele and the infatuated Duke d’Auribeau, who does not know she is married, Jenny, now known as Ria Bella, arrives at the fashionable resort hotel where Victor and his Uncle Moritz; are employed as Maitre d’Hotel and page boy respectively. Although still very much in love, Victor and Jenny again disagree about her career and she seeks the counsel of a law-yer. Advised that a slap is the best grounds for divorce, Jenny and Aunt Adele do their utmost to provoke Victor—but in vain.The lawyer, not knowing Victor’s identity, has inadvertently apprised him of Jenny’s plan and he treats her more lovingly than ever. To arouse her husband’s jealousy, Jenny stages an “affair” with one of the hotelguests but Victor upsets her ruse.Her premiere only a few days off, Jenny disappointedly returns to Paris where she and Aunt Adele are the guests of the Duke d’Auribeau. But Victor has been made major domo of the Duke’s establishment and, although Jenny is outwardly infuriated, she is secretly pleased by his presence.The Duke, without the knowledge or consent of Jenny, has arranged a dinner at which he intends to announce their engagement. Victor learns of the plan and in a jealousraSe gives her sufficient grounds for a divorce.Meanwhile, Uncle Moritz has collected a small army of unemployed hotel help and invites them to “RiaBella’s” premiere, where they joyfully recognize the much heralded actress as their own Jenny Mueller.
