The 154 Musquakies put on the show with a little aid from two white men — Curator E. R. Harlan, of the state historical department of Des Moines, who lectur.ed and had general charge of the program of the pow-wow, and •Joseph Svacina, of Bohemian parentage, a harnessmakor of Tama, who assumed considerable of -the business management. Mr. Svacina is, perhaps the most influental white man among the Tama Indians. Profits of the pow-wow this year were $1,500 more than any previous year.
