Bartlett are it consummated, the two hundred-acre d addition in which he is interested on East Fifteenth street will have a com-plete water works system of its own. 1 Yesterday Captain Bartlett apeared e before the public utilities commission and explained his proposition to them. ^ He was requested to obtain franchises , of various kinds and bring them before lt the commission. These instructions c’ will be carried out in the near future, ? it being understood that Captain Bart-^ lett will investigate similar franchises in other cities.Captain Bartlett represented the Bartlett-Camnbeil addition. The ad-l* dition is partially covered by some of the most beautiful homes in Joplin B and it is absolutely essential to him e that the addition be furnished with water. Until the Joplin Water Works B Company agreed to establish a system ) out to Villa Heights he was working* with the Booster Club in that suburb. ! It is understood that this will be considered.It was expected that the fire, water and light committee of the city council ^ and representatives of the Empire ’ District Electric Company were going to meet with the commission yesterday £ to discuss the plan of that corporation [ furnishing electricity for the city. The ; plan is to absorb the municipal light* plant here. However, those interested* were not present.
