Jackson Scouts To | Get First Eagle Badges FridayWith two major attractions, the Court of Honor of the colored division of the Boy Scouts of America was held at Lanier High School last Friday evening when Eagle Badges were awarded for the first time to Negro Scouts in Jackson, and the Jackson Air Base Quartet provided entertainment.Joseph Debro of Troop 51 sponsor'd by Pearl St. Methodist Church and Gilbert Mason of Troop 58 sponsored by College Hill Baptist church were recipients of this award.Scout Executive Harry Maxfield issued citations to Troop 58 of College Hill Baptist Church for the work this Unit is doing under the direction of Scout Master James A. I White. This Unit presented a demonstration of signalling which received enthusiastic applause.In his capacity as Negro Field Scout Executive. Leonard M. Parker, assisted in the preparation and presentation of the program.
