One of the most notable engage-meats to be offered at the Stratton Theatre tbia season occurs to-night, when the Aborns will present their mammoth spectacular production of “The Bohemian Girl. Bulfe's masterpiece will be presented in a lavish stage environment that is said to rival any of the many productions given to this opera in its seventy years of popularity. To the opera has been given a scenic mounting comprised of six massive and munificent scenes. Among the features heretofore not known ot this opera are a calvacade of horses that arc shown In a race up the mountains in pursuit of the kidnapping gypsy chief, an encampment of gypsies, who are seen matting and breaking camp, with Its band of genuine gypsies, dogs, geese pigs, chickens. Then thero is the fair or lcirmess, where arc Introduced the most remarkable troupe of whirlwind acrobats. These and a multitude of other novelties, all fitting with entire consistency where employed, combine to mako the Aborn version of “The Bohemian Girr an offering of exceptional importance. The presenting company, one of importance and unusual size, includes a cast of principals, big chorus and orchestra. A most complete production is guaranteed, and all who attend will thoroughly enjoy the performance. There are a few good seats still left, which can be had at the box office, or by telephone. Everyone has read about these characters, wno have made thousands and thousands laugh. A company of forty-five clever comedians, singers and dancers will Interpret the various characters, and guarantee to pleasa even the most confirmed grouch. A carload of magnificent scenery is carried and an excellent ] production Is assured. There are also plenty of very pretty girls. Some of the musical hits are “I Love You,” “For Instance,” “I’m a Tout, “When I Dream of You/' “I Was Never Meant for You/' “Pretty Boy,” “Tale of the Mermaid, “Just a Little, Spanish Moon,” “Sweet Land of Dreams” and others. Those who were fortunate enough to see this show last season claimed It to be one of the funniest presented at the Stratton. The story is familiar to the masses, as the book was more widely read than any novel of the last decade. An excellent cast will be seen in the play here, and those who read the book will surely want to see the play.
