CORNER STONE LAID.Impressive Ceremonies For Jennie DePauw Memorial Church.IThe corner stone of Jennie DePauw Memorial church at Beeler and Vincennes streets, was laid yesterday at 2 :20 o'clock with appropriate ceremonies in the presence of a large number of people.The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. W. F Lloyd, pastor of the Walnut street church in Louisville, assisted by Presiding Elder J. E. 8teele, Rev. W. O. Botkin, pastor of the ohnrch, and the other Methodist ministers of the city. Among the ministers from a distance who were present were Rev. W. B. Collins of Loaisville, Rev. Mr. Davis, of Greenville, and Revs. O'Nealand Hen-ninger, of Jeffersonville. Several selection were rendered by the choir.The corner stone contained a number of interesting articles taken from the old corner stone. Among them were the following : Letter from Joseph R Hicks, the contractor; copies of the Advanced Sunday School (Quarterly,’’ and Oor Little Ones' ’; New Albany Ledger, September 17, 1884; New Albany Herald, September 16 and 20, 1884, and Labor Record, July 12, 1884.Among the new articles placed in the stone were the following:A Bible from Mrs. McLain, the only charter member of the old church now iu the city. The Bible was given to Mrs. McLain in 1848.New Albany Ledger of Nov. 24, 1884, containing an account of the death of Mibb Jennie DePauw and the dedication of the church which bore her name.Part of the Bible that was in the old Kingsley Mission when it was burned ; kept and presented by Mrs. Diana Bent-Icy. A strange thing abont this was that the top leaf of the part found contained the subject of that day’s Sunday school lesson as tho church was burned ou Sunday morning and the subject of the lesson was “Ye Shall be Tried as by Fire.”Epworth League topic cards for eigh teen months with names of officers and membership of league.Names of officers and members of the Junior Epworth League.List of the official members of the church and a list of the names of the church showing increase of membership during past two years.Short history of the church.Report of the pastor for the year.Names of contractors.A picture of the old churchNames of all the Sunday school and teachers and officer*.Several papers as follows :Western Christian AdvocateEpworth Herald.Sunday School Advoate.Picture lesson paper.Marked copies of the Home Organizer, Saturday Herald, Tkibunk and Lodger.The Bishop’s appeal or Soul of tho Covenant.”The Christian Standard.Peuticostal Herald.The Christian WitnessThe Revivalist.World Wide Mission.Woman’s Friend.Conference minutes for current yoar.Methodist HvmnalatHymnal used in old church.Book mark given by the children of the Orphans’ Home to the Jennie De-Puuw Memorial church.Small coin bearing date of this year.Key to Jennie DePauw Memorial church.Songs used in Kingsley Mission printed on slips of paper.A piece of the wood which was iu the old Episcopal church bought by toe Lutheran church, then bought by W.C.
