But Mitchum is chasing Patric Knowles, who, he knew, stole the payroll.It is action from first to last, but good action. Never does the interest flag. And the ending will surprise you. so well are the true stateof affairs concealed, and without dropping any of the story along the w® v,Mitchum, Jane Greer and Bendix are good; but better is Ramon No-varro in his return to the screen.Plaving a Mexican police inspector, Novarro at no time overdoes a role which could very easily have been Barry Fitzgerald, | hammed up. The one-time matineeinept police sergeant in the Irish village falls in love with Barry's daughter. Ann Blyth, and incurs Barrvs dislike. But they find theBlarney Stone, the culprit and allends well.The writers have used almost every Irish tradition to give the picture charm, and they succeed.Thev bring in the little people.”predictions of a wise woman. For example, the scene when she tells him that she has been kissed 67 times, but that another girl has been kissed 65 times. Thats the opening Bing has been waiting for.As he kisses her prolongedly.
