'•» 4R **-. fl|i *Gaiety Last Evening—Purse asAn Appreciation.tSt. Francis school hall was thescene of gaiety last evening in honor of the return to the city of Father Bauer, who has been gone on an tx- I tended trip to Alsace Loraine, the home of his boyhood days, which were I al 1 spent in the sunny gardens of France.An interesting program was arranged and when all was in readiness Father Rough, who has been filling the place of Father Bauer, was dispatched to look for the Reverend Father at the parish bouse. Father Bauer was brought to the hall by being told that some boys had been making a dis turbance there and when he reached the hall a surprise was in store * for him, for he found the hall filled to overflowing with his parishoners, an orchestra and gallons of ice cream and cake awaiting to be served. Never had there been such a surprise prepared for anyone and never was any one more surprised or delighted than Father Bauer at this demonstration from his parish.The first number of the program was a song “Welcome to our Rev. Father,” by a quartet composed of!Misses Dine and Messrs Gibord. endScofield. They were accompanied by Miss Maude l^afayette on the piano, Miss Inez Moblo on the violin and Miss Mamie Moblo on the cello.Following this was a piano due*, by Miss Anna Mertes and Mrs. Hormufh. The Moblo orchestra ihen gave a selection of one of the popular airs of the day and were encored several times.
