Jonathan was born JJec, 24, 1800, and died in the spring of 1862. He was married to Ann Frazier, by whom he had two children, Jesse being the one now living. His second wife was tluldah Way, and to them were born four children, of whom only two are living, Mrs. Anna Horn and .Nathan Johnson. His third wife was Jane Small. Jonathan was appointed an Elder in the Friends’ Church, when he was only 26 years old and was the head of Cherry Grove Meeting as long as he lived. Some of the Friends thought he was too young for so grave and important a position, and seriously talked ol disowning him because he wore suspenders and square toed boots. Jesse said that there were more than one hundred members of the Johnson family in that glorious and better clime, where he prayed they would all meet them.... -___ r\ . n
