Historical factsGeorge Wills learned the pottery trade at Akron, Ohio. In 1870, he came to Worthington and finding excellent material for his trade, he erected a building and began to manufacture pottery. Born in England in 1843, he was a young man but his products were so fine that his putput never was able to reach the demands.President Buchanan ap pointed Andrew Humphreys, of Stockton Township, Indian Agent for the Territory of Utah in 1859. He was also Assistant United States Marshal of Utah part of the time to and including 1861 when he resigned.Dr Noah W Williams was born m Ohio in 1826. He became a tailor by trade. In 1849, he began to study medicine He moved to Owensburg in 1853 opened an office and began to practice medicine, became a director of the company that constructed the B B Railroad and in 1873 became interested in the milling business and ow neti an interest in the Owensburg Flouring Mill.The first Greene County poor house was built of hewed-logs, 18 x 26 feet, and cost of labor was $33.00. Completed during the winter of 1847, it housed eleven paupers.
