Dudley, a comedian of ability, and an entire new cast, including Hodges i and Baunchmere. Alberta Ormes. Jennie ! Hillman and others. The first act displays the exterior of Hiram Grindle's home. Hiram is running against Remus j Boreland for the office of mayor of Marco. Grindle represents the liberal end of the government while Boreland is on the Prohibition side. Grindle hasengaged a well known politician from |New York lo‘ run his campaign. The 1rival side hearing of this endeavors to forestall such a procedure if it possibly can. Walker Ties, manager of the Overland Burlesquers. a stranded showman, in company with Flossie Conn, a typical soubrette. conclude to make capital out of the campaign. It appears that Ties [ had suggested fhe idea of having Ward | Heeler, a black politician from New' York, help Grindle. Grindle agreed to pay $500 for the services of the black politician anlt;T had advanced Ties ?JH. Of course, the latter has lost this sum with bis show. Heeler fails to put in an appearance and Ties, taking a desperate chance, induces Hezekiah Doo. an itinerant race horse man and tout, to step into the j * breach. Doo doesn't know the first thing about politics or politicians and has to be coached by Ties Into assuming his new office. Then there are complications.
