Mrs. A. Sandbloom of No. 1122 Garst avenue returned to this city Friday evening from Des Moines, where she spent the day. Mrs. R. B. Richards of the Crary Park Apartments returned to this city Friday evening from a short vis it with relatives in Toledo, Ia, Miss Margaret Alexander of No. 615 Story street went to Cedar Ra pide today where she will visit for a few days a guest in the home of her aunt, Mrs. Otto Baker. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. White of Jolit, Til, have arrived in Boone for a visit in the Dr. M. C. Jones home, No. 309 Linn street. Mr. White is a brother of Mrs. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lanning have returned to their home in Des Moin es after a visit in Boone, guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Edward of No. 1609 Fourth street. John Montgomery will depart to night for his home in Denver, after a visit in Boone, a guest in the home of his cousin, George E. Mont gomery of No. 215 Cedar street. Peter Berglund of Des Moines is spending several days in this city, a guest in the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. L. Hoffman of No. 320 South Story street. Miss Ruth Kirk of No. 224 South Marshall street went to Des Moines today where she will spend the week end the guest of friends. Miss Kirk is a member of the News-Republican family. Miss Ruth Barth of Green, Ia., a teacher in the schools at Lanley, Ia., is spending the weekend in Boone, a guest in the home of her brother, Dr. Paul Barth of No. 716 Aldrich Ave. Mrs. L. Vernecom has returned to her home in Des Moines, after a vis it in Boone a guest in the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. W. Miller of No. 127 South Greene street. Mr. and Mrs. James Hliavacek of Chadron, Neb., who have been vis iting in this city, guests of the for mer’s brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Hlavacek returned to Boone Friday evening from Tama where they had been guests of relatives. Miss Martha Jean Montgomery and Miss Eunice Howell, both stu dents at the University of Iowa at Iowa City are spending the week end in Boone, guests in the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Montgomery of No. 215 Cedar street, Sophia Johnson of No. 709 West 10th street who is in the Boone County hospital suffering from a broken hip is resting quite comfortably. Mrs. Johnson broke her hip a few days ago while in the store of the Leader Grocery and Market when she slip ped on a grape. Returned Home:—Jacob Schroed er of No. 1416 Thirteenth street who recently had one of his eyes remov ed in the Boone County hospital, has returned home. Mrs. Schroeder is still in that Institution , suffering from a broken hip which she re ceived a few days ago in her home.
