Pearlman, spent several days in Atlanta this week on business.Miss Minnie Honea, has returned from a visit to her sister, Mrs. Regis-ter in Valdosta.Mrs. R. H, Barwick, of Cordele, is the. guest of. Mrs. JL B- Rountree.Rev. J» M. Rushin and W. R. Forster, attended the meeting of the Masonic Grand Lodge which was held in Macon this week.•SMr. Maurice Blood, has returned to Spartenburg after a week’s visit to his mother* Mrs. Rosa Blood.The Fourth Quarterly Conference of this district will meet at the Metn-odist church here on November 2nd. As it is the last meeting there will be reports from all the officers, and new officers will be elected and all ttte year* s business will be reported. All members are urged to be present.The marriage this week of Miss Lois Carter and Mr. Tom Hugh Beasley came as a genuine surprise to the many friends here of both parties. The marriage took place Thursday afternoon at the home of the bride’s father, Mr. J. R. Carter* near here. Miss Carter and Mr. Beasley are both very prominent socially and are receiving many congratulations from their friends.Congressman Frank Park was shaking hands with friends here Friday.Mr. E. 0. Nelms, one of the coun-ty.’s-oldest citiens died Tuesday at the home of his niece, Mrs. M. Sv Groover, n^ar here! Mr Nelms had bee?* sick for several months of an incur able disease and his death was nt*t unexpected.
