Thurs - /day evening last under the auspices, of the Ladies' Aid • Society; A pro* gram of readings, instrumental numbers and vocal selections was prepared by the committee in charge and a pleasant evening of good entertainment was provided. A'A Owing to illness, Mme. Greta Black was unable to be present to sing, also *Mrs. Robert; Telford,/elocutionist, wasprevented from contributing her reading. The services of .Miss HelenBadgley were happily obtained to ; substitute for Mrs. Telford, and Miss ! Martin, of Chicago, kindly offered to play a piano solo to fill in the gap V made by Mme. Black's absence. The 1 programme wasvnot too lengthy - and ! hence the more enjoyable for that / reason./ Mr.* Ely, organist, presided ' at both organ and piano. •. / ( , 1The vocalists of the evening were J Madame / Yulisse, Miss Alvina Munn 1 and Mr; Harry Grant. Madame Yul-t j isse's selections were / heartily ap- / pi auded and* she responded on two occasionswith: extra encore songs. lt;Mme, Yulisse interprets;; Well. - The .Scotch songs sung by, Miss Munn lt;were well chosen and well rendered. ; Miss Munri captivated her audience with her sweet, rich: voice and bonnie accent and the enthusiasm her renderings evoked left no doubt as to/the favorable impression she created. Mr. Harry Grant's contributions were al- .so Ave 11 /received; sang / is / his 1 usual good Voice .A and / style;/ Mr. ^ Grant/s popularity with local audien-' t ces will never wane Iso long as his .good bass voice retains its {present ,mellowness.
