For Old Times SakeA rather,unique dinner was given last Thursday, October .19, at the home of Mrs. Louise Burfeind, 409 62nd st., which was in celebration of a close friendship of fifty years standing between the hostess and Mrs. Katherine Scheuermann, widow of Dr. Frederick W. Scheuermann,a well known north side physician.In 1872, Mrs. Burfeind met Katherine Milek in the little country town of El Paso, Illinois, where Rev. Barthold Burfeind had a parish. A warm friendship developed but a year later circumstances compelledcim v to .move to Chicago, where later Miss Milek became the wife of Dr. Frederick W. Scheuermann, and this friendship continued through the years.The table and house decorations were carried out in chrysanthemums and marigolds and the immediatemembers of both families were present, including Mrs. Scheuermann’s two daughters, Mrs. Arthur A. Standish and Mrs. M. H. Weyker, and Mrs. Elisa Bodenschatz, of Lemont, Illinois. Of Mrs. Burfeind’s family were present, Mrs. Henry Eden, her sister, and daughters, Mrs. Fred Stuenkel, Mrs. J. H. Meyer and grand-daughter Dorothea, Mrs. Charles E. Clapper, Mrs. R. H. Burfeind, and the Misses Anna E. andMagdajene.
