OLGA To Take Over White Stag PlantMajor change* are under way at the White Stag Manufacturing Company. The plant ha* been acquired by CXga, manufacturer of better priced women'* Intimate appard, in a transaction generated by Waraaco, the parent company of both Olga and White Stag. This will mean increased employment oppoctundes for Checo-tah, since the plans are to double the number of operator*. Specialty machines will be brought in, and operator* will be trained in their use. Bras and foundation garments trill be manufactured at this plantWhite Stag sportswear was firstmanufactured in Checotah in 1955 in the old overall factory which had been bought out by H.A. Rich; In 1970 the factory was purchased by White Stag. The present building, located in the Industrial Park, was opened in January of 1981.The Olga Company was begun in 1941 by Polish immigrants, Jan and Olga Ertesze. Wamaco purchased the company several years later, and it has grown to its present size which indudes four plants in California and three in Mexico. Production this year is expected to reach 1,100,000 dozen garments.
