GLEN MOVINGDAYTON NEWTON(Photos by White and Sloan)Hoving, Newton win Benchwarmer honorsRedlands high school varsity center Glen Hoving was named Terrier of the Week and linebacker Dayton Newton was cited as Headhunter, both for their perofrmances in the RHS-San Gorgonio CBL football game at the UR stadium last weekend.Hoving, a 6-1, 175 pound senior who sat out most of his . junior year with injuries, was chosen by the Terrier Benchwarmer selection . committee for his fine job of blocking in the middle of the forward wall last week.Wearing number 54 on his jersey, Hoving was particularly effective in his pass blocking, holding out the Spartans tough middle guard.Newton, who is 5-10 and weighs 172 pounds, had his finest night backing up the defensive front line.
