Heber Springs purchased the f.Ivory Handle Company of Hope, 1merged the two businesses, con* solidatlng their business at Hope and formed the Brurier Ivory Handle Company- ,The plant today has two divisions, No. 1 for the Manufacture of Hickory Axe, Pick, Hammer, Hatchet Sledge and kindred handles. No. 2, for the manufacture of Ash Fork, Bake, Hoe, Shovel and kindred handles.Branch plants, producing raw material are located at El Dorado, Thornton and in Grant County Arkansas. Other mills producing handle blanks for \\ Bruner Ivory are located in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisi-* *ana. ; • •The annual payroll of the Hope plant is nearly $700,000, with an average of 200 employ-66S*Approximately 3,000,000 handles are produced annually, and are shipped to every state in the union, as well as to Canada, Mexico, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Many of these handles bear Bruner Ivory labels and brands, spreading the name and fame of Hope throughout the world.
