Murlan Haight, Ardys Deyloff, Homecoming King and Queen(By Ruth Renaud)Friday, the 19th of October, 1945, proved to be an exciting and eventful day for the students of Aurelia high school. After a mysterious morning and a busy noon hour, the assembly organized at 2:15 to watch the crowning of the King. After the crowning of the King the entire school participated in the Homecoming parade, which included a demonstration of yells and band selections on the main street intersection.That same afternoon after returning from town we had a short pep meeting in the bleachers and a band demonstration to help make the meeting a success in the absence of our speaker, Ervil Rapp.The Homecoming King of 1945, Murlan Haight, was chosen by a vote of the entire student body.
