Mr Evans Is to make an address at eight o’clock at the Ridge street tabernacle and a parade will start at seven o'clock probably emerging from Bridge street into Mam and going as tar as the Mount Vernon triangle where it will turn and go back to Ridge tncnce tothe tabernacle.Chiet of Police Bell this morning had before him a letter from Danville Klan No. 17, asking him to arrange for the clearing of Main street from Bridge as far as Ridge between the hour of seven to eight o'clock and Mr Bell asked that the people of the city co-operate in the matter and □bey the request Previous Klan parades have resulted in monument traffic Jams and the traffic department this year wants to obviate a lecurrence as far as possible. For that reason, theatre goers are being asked to park their machines on streets other than Main street so the curb may be clear and aftoiu room for what is expected to be a record array of robed klansmen in parade. No traffic will be allowed m Main street from seven o'clock until after the parade has passed Officers uptown will divert traffic from West and youth Main streets off the main tlioi oughf zir e.Special attention wrlil be paid to the rear of the parade and officers will be stationed to prevent a largo following of the marching klansmen as on the last occasion a phalanx or cats, thice and sometimes lour abreast came in behind the marchers, causing unusual confusion The cais which will naturally accumulate behind the slow moving procession will be diverted down Union streets, Recording to the police chiefs planInterest attaches to the parade this year because the titular head of the Klan will be here in person and it is thought likely that lie will head the parade and will appear with his vizor up and thus can be distinguished. It was learned authoritatively to-dav that two large brass bands will belu the parade next Thursday, one to be brought by North Carolina Klansmen and the other coining from Virginia.---—o —i NEW | train c• nia, b i her da’ !
