County commissioners, was knocked sky high in court Saturday. The road was organiz ed under the acts of 1S67, two years later than the one that orders gravel roads to become freest the expiration of their charter. The Coroners’ Verdict. The long desired and much talkedof verdict rendered by Coroner Lari-more will 1)6 officially published Wednesday, ami in our opinion will be a great disappointment to the public, as it will contain no intelligence whatever in regard to the manner in which poor Katie Hood came to her untimely death, yet it has been three weeks since her body was found floating inthe canal. As far as we can learn, the verdict states when she was last seen, follows her footsteps from Mike Schoenig’s house to Ninth and Mason streets. When the body was found he reports his examination, and concludes by saying the wounds found on her person wore mifficient to have caused her death, but as to how or in what manner they were inflicted, is not known. In a private conversation, he stated the evidence was not sufficient to fasten the deed on any person, also that it was his opinion the girl met her death at the Kerschner lock, whether accidental or otherwise, was of course a mystery.
