New TeacherMRS. ABRAHAMSONAnother new member to the faculty at Akron Community Schools this year is Mrs. Lu Ida Abrahamson.Mrs. Abrahamson teaches 5th and 6th Social Studies classes at the Annex.Having received her education at Morn-ingside College in Sioux City, the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, and the Southern State College in Springfield, South Dakota, majoring in elementary education, she begins her 15th year of teaching with us. Her previous 14 years of teaching were spent in the rural schools of Union County, South Dakota.Her husband, Mr. Olaf Abrahamson, is a farmer and they live about ten miles west of Akron on Highway 48. They have three grown sons.Mrs. Abrahamson’s interests include reading, sewing and babysitting with her grandchildren.She says that she really enjoys her teaching duties at Akron and the students with whom she is working. She feels especially fortunate to have such fine coworkers.
