BIG TIME AUTO RACES‘ Bill’ McCoy of Sullivan, Ind., is making his first appearance on the dirt tracks of Southern Illinois this year at. The Dillinger Motor Speedway, Sunday, Oct. 21. To the peoplo who know “Bill” that is enough, but to those who don't, this is the boy people drive two and three hundred miles to see when he gets on a Race Track and He always makes good. Bill holds track records all over Illinois and Indiana and was two year's champion of the middle west. In the championship race last year “Bin” drove 10 miles in 0 mtn., 50 seconds, had engine trouble and lost the race by the length of a wheel. He is driving a new car now that certainly is a wonder.“Cotton” Bunker has entered the Youtz Special from Decatur. This is considered the fastest Chevrolet in central Illinois, and “Cotton” is tin boy who can sure drive it. Also “Wild Bill Neely is bringing the Whippet Special and promises some real action.It M Hooker has entered Kentucky’s fastest Automobile No. fi Frontenac. Hooker holds the track record on the Louisville Speedway and has only raced in Illinois once this year.“Gus” Schrader of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, i-; racing at Memphis. Tenn., this week and promises to be here Sunday, with his record holding 300. With this car Gus set a new world's record on half mile dirt tracks of 15 miles in 13*^ minutes.Little “Howdy” Wilcox of Indianapolis hasn't been heard from yet, but Howdy never sends in an entry blank. He just comes if be ran. Howdy drives a $12,000 Frontenac and is called the most reckless daredevil on dirt.“Johnny “Tersinor of West Frankfort will be here with V5 to show these boys what Southern Illinois can do on race tracks. Doc Jones will drive the R. S. B. Special No. 29. Doc and Johnny have a little personal argument to settle as to which has the fastest car. This will be settled in the 20 mile feature race.Entrys are being received daily and this promises to he the best Auto Race ever run in Southern Illinois. Every precaution has been taken for the safety of the public and the track will be absolutely dustless so that every one can see thoAvhole race in safety and comfort, on the fastest track in Egypt. Lots of parking space all around the track outside the safety zones. Time Trials start promptly at one o’clock. Main Entrance opens at nine thirty, come early and avoid the rush.
