I For the Courier.]Free Democratic Meeting.At a meeting of a portion of the Free Democracy of the city ct Madison and vicinity held at the office of Judge Stevens on the evening of the 15th of October, 1852, S. C. Ste vens was appointed Chairman, and S. G. Daily Secretary.The Chair then informed the meeting that informal ion had been received by telegraph, that the Hon. John P. Hale, the candidate of the Free Democratic-Party for President of the United S ales, would be in Indianapolis on the 21st instant, and next day take the morning train of cars for Madison, and would deliver a Public Address' if desired at one o’clock, P. M , on the 22d instant, and that the object of this meeting was to make the necessary ar rangeiuents for his proper reception.When on motion a Committee of Invitation was appointed, consistijy? of Samuel G. Daily, W. Lockwood, Jacob \TOggoner, George Craven, John 13. Todd, Joshua Tibbatts and Samuel Tibbatts, who were requested to go to In dianapolis and confer with Mr. Hale, and invite him to visit our city and deliver a public address, one or more at such time and place as shall best suit him.Resolced, That the Rev. James Brown, Dr. Win. Davidson, A. W. Pitcher, G W. Phillips, E. G. Whitney, Rev. John G. Cravens, Rev. J. M. Todd, of Monroe, Dr. E. T. Tibbaits ami Dr. Samuel Tibbatts, Joseph Dudley, John Wooddeti, Charles Woodard, Capt. David White, John H. Tibbatts, Thomas West, E. C. Cushman, John Campbell, Levi Sturges, L-vi R. Booth, Jesse Grinstead, John Brazzle-ton, Lyman Hoyt and Horatio Fletcher, were appointed a Committee of Arrangements and Reception.Resoloed, That the Madison Courier, Republican Banner and the Madisonian, newspapers of this city, be requested to publish these proceedings both in their daily and weekly papers.S.
